Uuunnggghgf, I hate it when real life gets in the way of updating a blog that probably nobody reads. Also, the new Daft Punk album sucks.

Empire of the Sun - Alive

Yeah yeah, everyone knows about this already. But EOTS is one of my all-time favourite bands, so there's no way I'm not going to post their new single. Now, I'm not exactly blown away by this track but nevertheless I'm super excited to hear the whole album.

The Presets - Fall

New EOTS, new Presets - what more could a guy want? This is "Fall", the 2nd single off their latest album, Pacifica. Its really, really good; in fact its probably my favourite track off the album. Followed closely by Promises, of course.

Pet Shop Boys - Axis

Holy crap when did PSB suddently get good again? While many of the other early electronic pioneers (Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, OMD I'm looking at you guys) seem happy to throw their electronic origins to the wayside prefering instead to release generic adult contemporary blandness, it seems PSB have recognized that the kids these days really do like beepy boopy music again, and aren't embarrased to throw themseleves right into it. Good on you PSB!

How about some awesome French electro? We all love that, right? So here's a whole post devoted soley to French electro.

Tresors - Pleine Lune (Anoraak Remix)

If you're into Kavinsky and all that Drive soundtrack stuff than this will be right up your alley. Another great entry in the sparkling-neon-gold-driving-through LA genre.

Fenech Soler - Maiyu

How about some new Fenech Soler? Love the chill, deep house sound going on here.

The Aikiu - Fools

I've been really excited about getting this song on here. The song and video both have some great artistic flare going on - a nice change from the often cold and minimalist approach taken in the genre. One of the great things about the French electronic music scene is you always know you're going to get some great visuals and storytelling.

  April 8, 2013

Ya know, I wrote a whole custom API to run this damn site, thinking I'd learn all the ins and outs of web programming but all I really learned was that I've wasted a lot of time trying to reinvent the wheel, *sigh*. Drown your sorrows in booze and good music.

Kamp! - Melt

These guys have been releasing some consistently great synthwave tunes, and this is no exception. To get you acquainted with their previous work, check out Distance of the Modern Hearts and Cairo.

Phoenix - Entertainment

Hurray new Phoenix! If you know the band, then you know they're great and nothing more needs to be said. Listen now (though I'm sure you've already heard it).

Lissi Dancefloor Disaster - Singing My Heart Out

The Swedes never disappoint with their skill and finesse in producing fine electronic music. Prepare to be blown away by the epic, floor-shaking ending.

My weekly blog is slowly turning into a monthly blog. I've got a huge backlog of stuff to post so hopefully things will be more frequent. This is kind of a mixed bag of stuff that I've been meaning to put on here.

Moullinex - Darkest Night

Moullinex has been releasing videos from his amazing album, Flora. This is Darkest Night, a sultry (this might be the first time I've ever used that word), disco-laden track that, yes, there's no escaping it, is basically a having sex song.

Belle and Sebastian - I Didn't See It Coming

B+S aren't exactly known for their electropop, but every now and then they bless the world with an awesome little electropop gem such as this. It's not a new song, released back in 2011, but seeing as most of you probably don't listen to B+S (though I highly recommend it), I figured I'd slip it in here.

Crystal Castles - Sad Eyes

People who like electro all seem to love Crystal Castles but other than their awesome collaboration with Robert Smith, I've never much cared for them. Oh, except this song also, which has some kinda cool synth melodies and nice driving beats. The video is wonderfully creepy, and filmed in Toronto!

RUFUS - This Summer

I always have to throw in a darker song in my updates. These guys have a kind of vocal deep house thing going on and its just perfect for some late-night rain-driving.

  February 14, 2013

Apologies for my shameful lack of updates. In order to make up for it, all off these tunes have been cranked to Dance Factor 11.

Capital Cities - Safe and Sound (DiscoTech Remix)

Hand claps! Stoccato synth melodies! Laser beam pew-pew-pews! Electropop at its anthemic best!

Dust - Past Future

This is the sort of thing you expect to hear from a bunch of art school grads who decide to get into music, and its magical. A really awesome, unusual sound. Note: Dust may or may not be actual art school grads.

The Presets - Promises

What a great, happy, upbeat song! It's like some electropop lovechild of Van Halen's Right Now and The Farm's All Together Now. Seriously regretting missing their show back in October.

Pet Shop Boys - Memory of the Future

Hey look, PSB finally released some good new stuff!
